Farming mealworms requires a lot less space compared to a normal livestock farm, helping to prevent deforestation and the loss of natural habitats. It produces fewer greenhouse gasses due to the efficiency of the worms which produce less methane compared to cattle. Far less water is required and mealworms can be fed with less produce so, a much lower carbon footprint! Mealworms can be used at every stage of the lifecycle and their poop and shedding makes great fertiliser so there is no waste and they are truly sustainable.
