To take an active role in reducing our effect on the planet by reducing meat consumption, growing more of our own food and providing alternative high-protein sustainable food sources for those who care about the impact their dietary requirements have on the planet.
It all started with a simple question, “Is it time we started cutting back the amount of meat we consume and switch to an environmentally sustainable option that still provides us with the nutrients we need?” We knew if we were having this conversation, it was likely others were too. Was it possible this was something we could help with? We thought we could. Conducting research led us to mealworms and the rest (as they say) is history!
Ento U.P products are all derived from mealworms. Our organic fertiliser is made with mealworm frass – a combination of mealworm waste and shredded skin cells – it’s perfect as a fertiliser as it’s high in nutrients which can lead to better plant growth and a bigger harvest.
Dried mealworms are one of the core ingredients of our human and pet food ranges due to their nutritional value making them perfect for those wanting high-protein foods. We also sell live mealworms to those looking for food sources for wildlife and exotic pets.
Ento U.P is owned by husband and wife team Mike and Emma Bolton who co-founded the Business in 2021.
With backgrounds, in IT, marketing and agriculture they had the knowledge and the experience to create an ethical and sustainable business which could make a difference to people’s lives.
